I Don't Believe in Astrology Either (And Here's Why That's Actually Perfect)

"I don't believe in astrology."

I hear this often, and my response might surprise you: I don’t believe in the astrology you don’t believe in either.

If your only experience with astrology has been reading a one-size-fits-all horoscope in the Sunday paper that claims to know your entire week based on your sun sign alone, then we're actually in complete agreement. That version of astrology feels hollow to me too—like trying to understand a symphony by listening to just one note, or reading a novel where the only letter used is 'e'.

Sure, the letter 'e' is important. It's the most commonly used letter in the English language. But without all the other letters weaving together to create meaning, you're missing the full story. The same is true for sun sign astrology.

What If Astrology Isn't About Believing At All?

Here's what I've discovered in my years of working with natal charts: astrology isn't asking you to believe anything. It's offering you information—a different lens through which to understand the energy that moves through your life.

Think about it this way: no one questions that the moon moves the tides. Some tides are high, some are low, some are extraordinarily high, others unusually low. We don't panic about this cosmic influence—we simply work with it. Fishermen check tide charts. Surfers plan their sessions accordingly. Coastal communities adjust their rhythms.

This is exactly how I approach astrology. It's information about energetic tides, not predictions carved in stone. What if you could approach your own inner tides with the same kind of curiosity and respect?

Your Soul's Thumbprint

What if I told you that your natal chart is like a cosmic thumbprint?

Everyone has a thumbprint—that's universal. But you are the only person in the history of humanity who has had, or ever will have, your exact thumbprint. Even identical twins have different prints.

Your natal chart works the same way. There are universal energies and archetypes—10 planets, 12 signs, 12 houses, and various angles that create 38 different symbolic elements. But how these all blend together to create your unique soul blueprint? That has never happened before and will never happen again.

Out of 7.8 billion people currently living on this planet, not one of them shares your exact cosmic DNA. Add in your personal history, your choices, your relationships, and your own free will, and you become even more beautifully, impossibly unique.

Have you ever wondered what your birth chart might reveal—not about your future, but about the emotional themes already alive within you?

The Real Story Your Chart Tells

When I look at someone's chart, I'm not seeing their future laid out like a predetermined script. I'm seeing the energetic themes that want to dance through their life—the inner tensions that create growth, the natural gifts waiting to be expressed, the soul lessons that feel both challenging and somehow familiar.

These themes often center around what I call the Sacred Triangle: your Moon, Saturn, and Chiron. Together, they offer insight into how you feel, how you endure, and how you heal. This isn’t predictive astrology—it’s emotional healing astrology grounded in self-awareness.

Instead of reading just your sun sign horoscope, imagine reading the current cosmic weather for your sun (your core identity), your moon (your emotional inner world), and your rising sign (how you're growing and evolving). Then blend these three perspectives together. Suddenly, you're not getting a generic message meant for millions of people—you're receiving guidance that speaks directly to the unique constellation of who you are.

You could add Venus to understand how this energy affects your relationships, or Mars to see how it influences your actions and desires. The combinations are as endless and individual as you are.

Energy, Not Destiny

Here's the gentle truth that has transformed how I understand astrology: there is no "good" energy or "bad" energy in your chart. There is only energy that feels tense and energy that feels easeful. And we need both.

Tension is where we grow, learn, and sometimes break open in ways that ultimately heal us. Ease is where we find flow, peace, and yes, sometimes where we get a little too comfortable or complacent. Both serve our becoming.

When I share astrological insights with someone, I'm not telling them what will happen. I'm helping them become aware of the energetic climate so they can use their free will more consciously. It's like walking into a room where people have been arguing—you can feel the heaviness in the air. That feeling doesn't force you to start arguing too, but being aware of it helps you navigate the space with more intention.

What might shift if you approached your chart as a mirror instead of a map?

An Invitation to Awareness

What draws me to astrology isn't its ability to predict the future, but its capacity to deepen self-awareness. Your chart doesn't control you any more than knowing your personality type controls you. But just as understanding whether you're introverted or extroverted can help you make choices that honor your nature, understanding your astrological makeup can help you move through life with more self-compassion and clarity.

The cosmic energies don't cause your reactions—they simply provide a backdrop against which your own patterns, gifts, and growth edges become more visible. Like background music in a movie, the planetary movements set a tone that can help you understand why certain themes or feelings might be more present in your life right now.

What are the emotional patterns that keep showing up for you? And what might your chart reveal about them—not to define you, but to offer insight?

Your Truth Matters Most

If astrology resonates with you as a tool for self-discovery and gentle guidance, beautiful. If it doesn't, that's equally valid. The most important relationship you can cultivate is the one with your own inner wisdom.

What I've learned is that the people who say "I don't believe in astrology" are often the most thoughtful, discerning souls—the ones who refuse to accept surface-level explanations and demand something deeper. These are exactly the people I love working with, because they bring the same careful consideration to exploring their inner world.

The astrology I practice isn't about convincing anyone of anything. It's about creating space for you to recognize what you already know about yourself, to feel seen in your complexity, and to trust that your journey—with all its tensions and ease, challenges and gifts—is unfolding exactly as it needs to.

Whether you call it astrology, psychology, intuition, or simply paying attention to the rhythms of your own becoming, what matters is that you feel supported in discovering who you truly are.

And sometimes, the most profound discoveries happen when we approach something we thought we didn't believe in with fresh eyes and an open heart.

What if your skepticism about astrology is actually the perfect starting point?

Sometimes the most meaningful connections happen when we allow ourselves to be curious about something that initially felt foreign.
